defrost took the words out of my mouth. I would recommend the DIBILAS system is it retains the MAF and other stuff to make the car more drivable.

I would not recommend ITBs for street. We have them for ultimate power, but as other say, on part throttle they are very erratic. Some ECUs allow closed-loop lambda control which would smoothen it out a bit, and our ECU allows you to set a throttle position above which it switches out of closed-loop...

FYI, OMP make a roll cage specifically for the Lanos:

Nice dude!

Where did you get the steering wheel and hub? Do they make a hub specifically for the Lanos, or does another one fit?

The thing that should be verifed is the distance between the strut towers. We have a Mk3 Astra GSi which takes the same struts and strut mounts from the Mk2 Astra, BUT the strut towers are further apart. If someone can measure center to center of the Lanos, I can get my brother to check our Mk2 Astr...

Maybe they helped with the damping and spring rates. That is a science onto itself. For instance, we have a Mk3 Astra GSi which had terrible reviews for handling versus the Mk2 Astra GTE, which most people think is the poor spring/damping rates in the factory suspension. Now put on proper rally susp...

The Tran-X is 560 pounds: http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/products/ProductDetail.asp?cls=MSPORT&pcode=TNXLSDFSE Gripper is the same price: http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/products/ProductDetail.asp?cls=MSPORT&pcode=DRE011 ... plus shipping. Look under Opel or Vauxhall and then F16/F20. Jonathan Linton

AVO are another option for Astra (Lanos) shocks too:

We ran SPAX on our rally Mk2 Astra GTE, and they burst very quickly. We upgraded the SPAX to some full-blown rally stuff, but changed the rear to AVOs and had good results.

I guess that lays to rest the theory about the F16/D16 internal gears being compatible with the F20/D20 I cannot vouch for the D16/D20, but there are internal differences between the F16 and F20 gears, even though they may have the same ratios. We had a 2.0L 8V Mk2 Astra GTE which came with a F16CR...

I have a Nissan Sentra Spec-V which has basically a Quaife type diff, and it is nice and progressive, but in our Mk3 Astra GSi rally car (which had a F20 box) we used a Tran-x diff from England. Gripper make a similar diff. It is clutch type and in my opinion is better suited to out and out racing a...

are any of the F20 available in Canda? Also how much power can each tranny handle? You can use the D20 noted above, same as the Opel/Vaux F20. As for power, there's a few throttle bodied Vauxhalls with 200-230hp that use them, but they have less torque than a turbo engine.......... Stef We have a 2...

yes it is doable as long as you are talking about a Lanos... you will need: 1- the full rear brake assembly (hub, axel rotor & caliper). 2- the proportional valves for the rear brakes off the MkII Astra. 3- the hand brake cable of the MkII Astra. in the end your rear brakes will look like this: htt...

Excuse my ignorance, but was there a Sport model before 2001? If so, did these also have the short ratios?
