Re: ssssssstutter
yeah you cant (well i couldnt) get it in there without the wheel coming off. Theres a couple of metal dowels used to locate the bracket to the block as well as the 10mm bolt. I did the dodgy and ground the dowels down a bit but i just wanna confirm its in the right spot before i go and replace the s...

Fear not !! its my engine I'm talking about, not the beastie boys (though it was a cool song). Short story is, the bracket for the crank angle sensor broke in my trusty 99 A15SMS woo. I got it out and glued it together (im sourcing another from a wrecker). To get it back in, i did a bit of a dodgy w...

99 lanos 1.5 intermittent hand brake light
Hi all, Its been a while but Im hoping someone can help. My trusty '99 1.5 woo (220k km on the clock) has an intermittent hand brake light issue, though lately its on most of the time in forward gears only. Its not a solid on or off state, more that it 'stutters'. Im not feeling any degradation in b...

Re: Oil change - what weight oil?
Hi Daniel, Yeah look you should be fine to mix the two, just listen to your engine and the valve train will tell you when its time to change. The shell oil shouldnt give you any probs, I dunno about the Repco stuff though, if you google it and try and hit some of the falcon / commodore forums that'l...

Re: Oil change - what weight oil?
Hi Daniel, Im in Canberra and used to use 5w50 Shell full synth when mine was new, this oil performed well and 'gave' the car a little more midrange torque, but it also burned through a little too. I mainly used this oil because of the cold winters we were having (it was around -10 when i would go t...

There was a place out Ryde way that used to do 'woo stuff (when 'woos used to race at Goulburn), they mainly do Hyundai performance stuff now but you may be able to pick up some left overs. They used to do exhausts, headers, mod throttle bodies, turbo's etc for the woo. Have a hunt on the web, they ...

Thanks guys, all good stuff. I think I may try and get a hold of a larger airbox (working on the theory of a greater volume of filtered air), additionally, the price of a filter is actually a little cheaper (due to the popularity of the donor car). Tim re: the corrugations, yep I have heard the same...

Pod or Box ??
Guys, Ive been thinking about pulling the stock airbox off and running a pod down into the guard (where the resonator was), Ive popped out the fog light cover so there is a clean source of fresh air.....but then I got thinking  , so here is a question for those with the induction knowledge: - ...

Dude, From what I have read, you cant "clean" an O2 sensor, sure you can brush off any carbon and coke, which may help it sniff a little better, but this things are a consumable item, like your spark plugs and need to be replaced. I did find a really good tech article on these things on the web, if ...
