Just gonna add my 2 cents here. I dont know what the standard output of the reno is, but I'm guessing you've added a fair bit of poke. If you are spinning the wheels through first, then LSD is the way to go, or suspension mods. If you're not spinng through first i was thinking about suspension mods,...

Personally, I'd go and find a reputable mechanic to recondition your head. Just had a similar thing happen on the lanos, only cost AUD$400 for reco, came back like new. Initially i went to Holden (GM in Oz) and they outsourced it for us. Quoted us $600, but dad had a chat and got it down to $400... ...

temperature gauge
Hi all Just broke a timing belt and spent the last 3 weekends sorting that out. Car runs much better now. Only thing is, when I accelerate hard the temperature gauge dropps suddenly, the harder I load the engine the more it drops, almost like a vacuum gauge. Got me beat. Has anyone had this problem ...

Nearly Fixed
Hi again. First, i'd like to thank MMamdouh. You do a great job on this forum, Thankyou!!! For any other 1.5 SOHC owners. Make sure you do your timing belt when due. if your not sure, do it, just to save yourself the drama. My dad and i were too lazy to do it and it has wound up costing a shitload m...

Not too sure of the compression ratio. engine code is A15SMS, if that helps. Just tested the compression with the end of a file(just used the files handle to fill the spark plug hole). With all the plugs out, cyl. no. 4 seemed to have no compression. when we turned it over with the valve cover off e...

1.5L SOHC issues
Hi All My mum was the proud owner of a 1997 lanos SE (1.5 SOHC E-Tec). A couple of days ago, while slowing down to a stop at the top of a hill the motor stalled and wouldnt fire again. Was driven off the road in 2nd gear by cranking the starter. Got it home, found it had stripped the timing belt aro...
