Compression ratio issues...Daewoo VS Corsa
Hi there guys. Just some input/advice needed please. My Daewoo sporting a freshly built setup has an calculated CR of 8.5:1, my Corsa with the old Daewoo motor (also freshly rebuilt) has a CR of 8.6:1. Both engines 2L Ecotec setup This is obviously fantastic for a turbo car. However something that I...

Re: Nubaroo Corsa B Project REVISED
OK so I had the Corsa on the dyno today - Only managed to get to 1.6bar boost( 252WKW/480NM) as Wallbro fuel pump (255LPH) could not keep up with fuelling demand. Will add Bosch 044 pump later this week and re-dyno car I did not get to the point where I had to worry too much about running out of fu...

Opinions neded on K1 Conrods
Hi guys. I have transferred the Daewoo motor into a Opel Corsa I have. I have built a new motor for the Woo with Wiseco low compression pistons and some K1 conrods also supplied from Wiseco. However - my tuner recons that the K1 rods are not strong enough for 400WKW.....?? Anybody used these rods be...

Nubaroo - Corsa VS Suzuki Bandit 1200cc
Had a run against a friend of mine on his Suzuki. This engine in my Corsa is the old engine from my Daewoo Nubira. I have refreshed the motor but as I am only running with 1300 sideshafts on the Corsa I am keeping the boost down to 1.2 bar and I am running on street tires. We had a running start fro...

Re: Nubaroo Corsa B Project REVISED
Hi Bud.
Quite right there.
There is nothing Daewoo left on this build - it is pure Opel now LOL!
I referred to it as my daewoo motor as it is the one that was in my daewoo Nubira.
Gonna build a 2.4L Ecotec motor for my daewoo

Nubaroo Corsa B Project REVISED
OK so I got tired of battling with getting the 1.8L motor to make decent power..... Sold the complete motor to a friend of mine( he is happy with 200 Wheel Kilowatt) and whipped out the Daewoo motor. Refurbished the Daewoo motor with some extra TLC this time. Fitted Daewoo subassembly and ...

Re: Help needed - Daewoo Lanos 1.6
OK so the TD04H turbo is poked......think some foreighn matter got inside the oil feed when I rebuilt the motor :( Repair cost is R2500 and a NEW GT28 bush turbo is R3000 so I decided to change turbo to GT28 :D This should make quite a lot more power as it is better suited for an 1800cc engine BUT I...

Re: Help needed - Daewoo Lanos 1.6
So just for the peace of mind, the head studs did finally arrive correct? Hi Garret. Nope still waiting fir the head studs - I have assembled the car with standard headbolts for now. Gonna just keep the boost under 1 bar till the ARP kit arrives. Posting the studs apparantly takes around 8 weeks fo...

Re: Help needed - Daewoo Lanos 1.6
What do plan to do in order to shorten the rods by 1.5mm ? Seems like it would be less hassle to machine the pistons ( either remove crown material or move the wrist pin up towards the crown or a combination of the two ) Hi there. I would not like to machine the pistons as I am worried to weaken th...

Re: Help needed - Daewoo Lanos 1.6
OK just a quick update. Fitted the 700CC injectors and redynod the car - at 1 bar boost we experienced some detonation and popped the headgasket in the process. Granted the headgasket is a Cometic one that was used for a second time and I am still running stock headbolts it is understandable that th...

Re: Help needed - Daewoo Lanos 1.6
Nice work man!! 260whp+ on the 1.8L sweet. I'm glad someone here on the forums is still pushing the envelope and making progress =) Thanks bud - some guys here in South Africa have taken the small block Corsa build to 300+ Wheel Kilowatt  My engine is built to get there if I fit ARP headbolt...
