Dead Lanos

I have a 99 Lanos sitting in my parents driveway because the connector rod broke due to headgasket failure and was wondering since I dont have the money to repair/replace the engine what would be the best thing to do with it?¿? Everything else on the car is good except the ac compressor stopped work...

If I had the knowhow and $$$ I would probably try to fix/replace it myself, but I lack both... I know this is a long shot but any thoughts on what could be making the noise?

There is a sound in the engine that sounds like ball bearings were dropped into it... As Ive been sick, I found out that the 2 people that said they would look @ it started it up and heard the noise and backed away, wouldnt even take it apart... They said it wasnt coming from the valve cover but som...

Found someone to look @ the car and said its gone unless I want to do serious engine work, which I dont have the $$$ for, so would it be worth parting out the working parts of the engine? It only had 59000 miles on it and no other problems that Im aware of...

Looks like the only place to get head gaskets are online... I did see that the bolts were the same as the Aveo is it possible that the gasket is the same???

It would be pretty tough I read all the stuff that you have to take off the engine to replace the gasket like the timing belt and all that or did I read the wrong thing??? Im just hoping the noise that we are hearing is nothing sever...

Is it possible that the noise thats heard when the car starts could be a head bolt came loose which would also cause the coolant leak?

If its the head gasket I will probably wind up writing the car off and blowing it up or selling it...

Its all over

Bumped starter and it starts but was told when it started it sounded like chains rattling around... Also found coolant leak, when milky oil was found... So my coolant is leaking into my oil...

If I am looking @ the bottom of the engine where would the starter be located? I know if you go from the top its under the intake manifold but what am I looking @ from underneath?

The sound it makes does sound like if you were to start the car while it was already started... Problem with not doing it myself it they want an arm and a leg to work on it since there is only one shop that will work on Daewoos... So I will be up under her tomorrow luckily I have small arms and hand...

Well yall were right, it was power steering, I cleaned the outside of the ps reservoir and found that I was looking @ the MIN line not the MAX... i checked all the hoses and pipes running near and under the radiator but there is no new fluid on them... Now on to my next task, replacing my valve cove...

I did feel the lines from under the car when I got home but there was no fresh fluid and no dripping... I plan on doing more work this week to try and find where it is/came from...
I didnt get a good look @ where the leak started as it was 20 something degrees out and I was running late for work...

Thanks for the responses... I went home yesterday to check it and couldnt reproduce the leak, let the car run for 15 or so mins took it around the block still no leak... Hopefully the issue has fixed itself... I checked the power steering fluid and its still full... Dont know how to check tranny flu...
