...complete timing belt job (hasnt been done at all and I'm at 94k)... you are pushing your luck way too far. MMamdouh The reason I haven't changed it yet is because the only mechanic (other than myself) has been in Iraq for going on 3 years. Every shop I've taken my Lanos to for a quote on the job...

yeah i only ge like 23 miles to a gallon :( in the city My Lanos' gas mileage is pathetic and I do mostly highway driving. My most recent MPG check was.... oh about 19MPG. If I fill up, I only get around 150-175 miles off it. However, I need an oil change, complete timing belt job (hasnt been done ...

I also painted my dash and door handles, however, I used white. BUT, I painted the cluster housing white as well, gives it a real neat effect. At night when my lights I get this nifty pin-dot at the end of my speedo needle on the cluster housing. (Makes for a cool non-intended mod) My dash pics are ...

I was quoted $650 for the job at the dealership in my area for my 2000 Lanos.

Lowest I've been able to find so far from just calling shops from the phonebook is $375.

Well, I finally got the Lanos into a friend's shop. His "conclusion" on my problem is that my right front strut is completely blown and that my left front strut is going to go sometime in the near future.

What do you guys think? Could that be it?

like a full system that is like 300 and above watts By full system, do you mean, Receiver, Mids and Highs, as well as Subs and Amps? I, personally, have not seen any receivers currently on the market that advertise higher than 50x4 or 200 watts, and thats the Peak Wattage, most wont put out more th...

Help.. excessive tire wear..

I've got a 2000 Lanos HB. Just recently, over the passed 2 months or so, I've had an incredible amount of wear on my passenger-side front tire. It's ridiculous just how much wear has happened in so short a time. What I'm looking at is this. I bought some 17" Konig Verdict rims with brand new Yokoham...

I've also had the same problem on my '00 Lanos. I leave it in D3 until the ECU shifts up to fourth, usually at ~110-115. Haven't been able to get any faster than that. Would it be possible for a tranny shop to modify the gear ratios to help with the dropoff in 4th?

I dont understand.. how do you wire it to get 500rms to each sub even at dual 4ohm? "RMS Power (4 ohms) 500 watts x 1 chan. " So it should only be able to power two subs at 250rms, riight? no more... http://www.audiobahn.com/tech/wiring/Parallel-Parallel_for1_ohm.pdf That link shows how you would w...

I'm not sure if it is the EGR valve but I was looking at prices for a replacement. Here's what I found:

GM-CAR-PARTS: EGR VALVE, Lanos, Leganza, Nubira 99-02.....$219.34
BBAutoparts: EGR VALVE, 2000 Lanos.....$146.24[/url]

My Lanos must just be weird because as soon as I get up to 110 the tranny shifts to the final gear and my speed just drops. Feels almost like something is cutting off the gas flow.

I've only gotten my '00 Lanos to 110mph before the governor kicks in. It's an AT and the only way I got to 110 was by forcing the tranny to stay in 3rd til the computer forced it to shift.

Speaking of this... same thing happened to me, however, it happened on both sides. Anyone have a parts car with the front fenderwells as well as those triangle covers that ...
