My Lanos is coming up on 120000 miles and it is time to change the timing belt again.

I see these kits on ebay for about $100 give or take a few dollars. Has anyone had any experience with any of these, good or bad?

How long should it take the dealer to install all of this? I'm guessing the labor rate is in the region of $65 per hour, so about 5 hours would be built into a $600 quote.

My dealer wants $600 for the timing belt, tensioner, water pump and all labor on my 2001 Lanos.

Sounds liks a lot, bit I have nothing to compare it to.

I'm sure they are. If you look at his other auctions he uses the same picture for lots of different vehicles. I e-mailed him the make model and year of the car as well as the VIN, so hopefully I'll be okay.

What they are, are rings that go over the hub to fill in the space between the hub and the hole in the center of your aftermarket wheel, which will be bigger. For what it's worth... I had emailed these guys about the headers they offer and they did reply back to say that they would fit the 1.6 Lanos. That was the extent of the message though, no mention of having to do any modifications. They have since changed their website to include both the 1.5 and 1....
