Re: 2004 Chevy AVEO- OBDII Compliant?
Chevrolet Aveo 2004 "speaks" the KWP2000 protocol (and is OBDII Compliant). Not all Scantools can deal with this. Rest of the GM family is more likely to be using the VPW protocol, or the newer CAN.

I don't think ELM322 is the right interface for our cars... Daewoo / GMDAT (As of 2005) still use the KWP2000 protocol that is supported by the ELM323(ISO) interface. How do I know? I got both interface at home... as my previous car was a GM. Also, don't expect too much from that interface, look at ...

Coolant change: Engine block drain plug on the 2.0L?
I'm about to do my first coolant change on the Optra. I'd like to know if there is some kind of drain
plug on the engine itself to get most of it out before flushing and refilling.
My older Saturn had the thermostat mounted low enought to achieve a good result, but this is
not our case I think.

Any idea where I could buy only the switch? My Optra has keyless entry factory installed, but no central locking switch :-( Would be a great addition once wired into the keyless module right near the handbrake. GM-DAT seems to think having the 3 other doors "slaved" on the driver knob is enough... b...

Automatic or Standard? The automatic already got some non-standard fluid in it that can't be replaced with Synth DexronIII like I did to my other car. Aside from better "shift feel" in low temps (-20 to -30C), it did not make much difference once warmed up. I just used it since I had a car known to ...

Since were somewhat on the subject is there any way to get a hitch on the forenza? It would be nice to have a little trailer for track wheels/tires.. and some tools I've had one installed on mine. I had to have a shop "custom weld" one for it as nobody wants to make a kit for these cars. Pretty che...

Still nothing on mine after 9 months.rr__kroz123 wrote: Did you guys got this problem too?
Unless you messed with them, that should be covered by the warranty, no?

When I looked under the bonnet of the Optra and didn't see that familiar P shape I was a bit concerned. Only time will tell if those are as good. I don't even know the name of it...anybody figure it out yet? As said in the service manual, the trans we get depends on the engine. 1.6L gets an Aisin t...

So, as I understand it, the 4HP16 is still a Daewoo-GMDAT only transmission for now. I'm just happy they fixed the computer control in mine before it damaged the trans by shifting too hard and to many times in city driving. Let's hope for the best, I still got a 5yr warranty if something happen. In ...

ZF 4HP16 Auto trans: how good is the reliability?
I got curious reading the Lanos autmatic transmission thread... The transmission now used on our Suzuki Forenza/Chevrolet Optra is the same ZF 4HP16 that was used on the previous Leganza and Nubira I think. Anyone care to comment here their success / failures on higher mileage cars and/or abused ones?
