Re: Cam timing position sensor replaced, CEL on
I have a generic aftermarket one in my 5 speed 99 lanos and I have no problems with it whatsoever. Bought it from www.rockauto.com

Re: Timing belt stretched ?
Good news, got everything put back together and the car runs great. So no bent valves from turning the gears manually. I've been driving the thing for 4 days straight and no issues or check engine light. The only issue I had was trying to get the tension for the belt set correctly. I had to remove m...

Re: Timing belt stretched ?
Okay, I did what you said and then put on the new timing belt. So I have come across another possible new problem. After putting on the belt I went to turn the motor around 2 revolutions before setting the tension perfect like the procedure instructions say to do. Well, while I was turning the cam s...

Re: Timing belt stretched ?
So, I started the process of changing out my timing belt. It did not break while driving. Anyways, I got ahead of myself and took off the old belt before lining up the timing marks. Could I bend my valves if I just turn the cam gears and crank shaft gears manually till they line up?

Re: Timing belt stretched ?
So, does anyone know what his actual problem was? I too now having clicking coming from my timing belt area even though everything only has 40,000 miles on it. Was it the water pump, idler, or tensioner making the ticking sounds? I am not driving the car the way it is and need to wait for parts to c...

Re: my dohc 1.5 RPM problem
Check the Idle mixer module on the throttle body. I think that is what it's called. My Daewoo Lanos used to do that. Take the module out and clean it off with carb cleaner and a rag. There was so much gunk on mine I had to wipe it. Before I fixed it I would just reset the ECM to make it go away unti...

P0133 Code help
My Daewoo Lanos is giving me a P0133 Code. I have had a shop look at it and they said it was the upstream O2 sensor because they tested the wiring and it was good. So I changed the O2 sensor, reset the check engine light and the problem came back. I also had the exhaust checked for leaks and did a w...

P0134 check engine after starter change in my 99 Lanos
So this past weekend I changed my starter. About 30 minutes after I start driving the check engine light comes on and I now have a P0134 oxygen sensor code. Anyone have any ideas of what happened? Could I have bumped something? I checked the wiring for the 02 sensor and it is all hooked up. Is there...

Re: 99 Lanos High Idle help please
Well, I think I found a solution to the problem. I found a post on another forum about the IAC sensor. Sure enough when I took out my sensor the tip or end of it was all covered in carbon. I couldn't even rub it off. I ended up using some carburetor cleaner spray and was able to break it loose. I ma...

99 Lanos High Idle help please
I am having the typical High idle Issues with my Lanos. I saw a thread about it here once a while ago but cannot find it now. Anyways, the problem started when I first got the car 3 years ago. At first the car would only have a high idle for maybe 1 or 2 days every 3 months or so. So basically I jus...

Re: Lanos rear non-abs wheel bearing
I didn't realize there were two holes in the spindle to choose from. I was just using the hole that the original pin was in. I will have to check that out. Thank you.

Re: Lanos rear non-abs wheel bearing
Thank you for your response. I now have one other small issue with the tightening of the wheel bearings. I had to buy new castle nuts since my old ones had stripped out. The new castle nuts I bought do not have as many openings in the top to fit through the cotter pin. Because of this I have two opt...

Re: Lanos rear non-abs wheel bearing
I was hoping someone here could help me with a paranoia I have about my rear wheel bearings. I recently changed mine on my 99 lanos and want to know if I tightened the bearing nut enough. What I did was tightened the nut down snugly until the wheel spun but with a little bit of resistance. I then ch...

Re: The Lanos CV axles do not fit my Lanos? Why is this?
I ended up having to order a good used one from a junk yard. Check out ebay. There are some suppliers on there that even list the mileage of the car it came off of.

Lanos rear bearing torque specs
Does anyone know what the rear bearings on a Lanos should be torqued to when installing? I changed out my bearings two years ago and they have gone bad already. I think I didn't torque them correctly last time so I want to get it right this time around.
