Re: Oil not registering on dipstick? Nubira '99 wagon
So what was causing the knock sound? make 100% you failed to see the new fresh oil on the dipstick. if it took a long time to flow down the crankcase there is something wrong. oil should be down there as soon as you pour it in. may be 1 or 2 secs and that to me is too long. you can use Marvel Myster...

there is no way of telling. until you get the head removed you will not know for sure regardless of how good an engine might be.

Re: Nubira driver's side headlamp keeps fogging up
what rubber gasket seal? I'm lost. not that I have looked at it. but AFAIK the only thing sealing a H.L housing is the seal itself between the lens and the housing and the O ring for the light bulb. I would check the light bulb O ring or if there is any small cracks on the housing/lens. from What yo...

Anyone using Aveo Parts?
I got a HG for my Lanos now the Valve Lifters are shut.
Has anyone used Aveo Lifters yet.
I'm 99% sold on buying Aveo lifters. they are only $10 cheaper but given that the L91 engine is the redesigned A16, I am leaning toward those. IDK if they are any better though
any reason why not?

Re: O2 Hack
IDK how you get to the conclusion that you don't need a O2 sensor, unless you have a carburator, chipped ecu or a stand alone ecu, if you are using a tuned ecu the software used can deactivate the O2 and no cel light. now if you are using a regular ecu with few mods, be warned that the O2 is what te...

Re: Lanos Catalytic Converters - Which to Replace?
if you can separate each from the other all you need to do is to point one end towards the sun and try looking through the center(if possible) you should see a bright spot in the area you are looking through. if there is a bent in the pipe and you can not see straight through you need to visit a loc...

Re: water pum Q's --please help!
was the site down for a while? In any case. I went to the store and they are 100% identical. I think there is a typo on advance auto parts website. the only thing different is the shield on the Lanos pump , the aveo doesn't have that shield/dust cover behind the gear. the only thing I am concerned a...

water pum Q's --please help!
Ok here is the deal I have a 99 Lanos SE. I read somewhere that there was a different type of water pump for these cars. all I know is that the vanes are larger. can someone tell me what car it comes from. then the 65K pennies Q. what would be the effect of using a water pump from a "04 Aveo. all I ...
