Bosch Platinum Spark Plugs

Post by mochrist »

Hi Friends,

I know it is old question however I am facing this problem NOW big time.

Recently I changed my Cielo's Spark Plug to Bosch Platinum Spark Plugs which is suppose to be costlier and superior in market. But what I found was that from the time I changed this plug my mileage has now drooped to 50% that is 5 km per liter.

Could it be because of this plug. Or I also chaned complete plug wire and router too.

What can be the issue.

Doe any one in this community using this Bosch Platinum Spark Plugs have the same problem.

Pls Help.

Thanks

this is very high consumption... can you test your mileage with another set of plugs just to detect if the problems are from the plugs or not?

Thanks you friends...

In that can you'll help me by giving the check list on what I need to check for fuel efficiency.

Following are the checks that are already done :

- Wheel balance and alignment
- Fuel Leakage
- Timing
- Spark Plug
- Router
- Changed the plug wires

You can check too:

-clean air filter
-coolant level
-engine temperature
-dragging brakes
-tyre pressure
-cylinder compression

What is the Bosch spark plug reference you have now? Original fit from service manual is AC DELCO R45XLS.

How does sprak plug tip looks like now? Make a choice from http://www.dansmc.com/Spark_Plugs/Spark ... talog.html .
