2000 Leganza Misfire Problem

Hello,

I have a cyliinder 4 misfire on my car. I put new spark plugs and plug wires & fuel filter and still get the misfire. The car cranks but but runs really slow and the front end shakes and the exhaust gets hot, so hot it melted the plasitic splash guard under that area.... you also have to mash the gas to get it going just a little. Would you have any ideas of what else it may be? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

could be a faulty coil pack or injector problem

check the coil for sparks from port no. 4 and then swap the no. 4 injector to another cylinder and see if the misfire follows the replaced injector or not

Would this cause the exhaust to get burning red hot?

Its a possibility because if raw fuel gets into the exhaust it will bake like a bbq in the catalyst, but probably flooring it like you did led to that symptom...

The above diagnosis is correct verify fuel and spark delivery to that cylinder. If those check out fine perform a vaccum test of the engine...
