Spark plugs for the 1.5L Daewoo's?
I traded in my '02 Daewoo Lanos for a 2005 Chev. Colorado. My dad came on the lot with me when I picked up my new truck, and ended up buying my old Daewoo off the lot for the price I traded it in for so I'm asking this question on behalf of him.
Does anyone have any #'s for spark plugs that are for the 1.5SOHC engine? I looked on Daewootech.net and those are the type of #'s im looking for, however they are the 1.6DOHC. I'm sure they are fairly similar, I am running the Bosch Platinum+4 right now for about a year and a bit. Since I put them in ive noticed a bit of hesitation, and a few small small backfires. When the car is under load and you give it gas it hesitates, im sure its the plugs if its not, any other ideas? I'd like to try to replace the plugs with the spec ones for the engine if anyone knows that info
Thanks!

I can answer that.
Anything equivalent to a NGK BPR6E.
I ran a cross referencing search on www.sparkplugs.co.uk and this is what I came out with:
Champion RN9YC
Denso IW20
NGK BPR6EIX
NGK BPR6EVX
NGK BPR6ES
Denso W20EPR-U
Please note that these spark plugs need a 21mm hex driver.

As per the users manual the spark plugs to be used in a 1.5 SOHC are:
Champion RN9YC
NGK BPR6ES
personally i have found the Champions to be crap and i replaced them with NGK BP6EY and they were great, after that i used Denso W20EX-U and they were good tas well but not as good as the NGK's.
now i am running BOSCH super 4 and i feel they are not any better than the NGK's in anyway.

today i went to get a set of NGK spark plugs for my car and the guy at the NGK dealer gave me a set of BPR6ES but those were not V grooved so i returned them and got a set of V grooved spark plugs marked BP6EY.
was that unwise to do? i mean i bought a set that is not specificly made for my car but i got a set that i have already tried and they were great... is that OK??

i have to add that i tried some NGKs from a Leganza (with twin -ve electrodes) and it is working great on the car.
i also tries ordnary split fires and triple platinum split fires and both were not good... they did well on the 1.6 DOHC and 2.0 DOHC only, seems that the 1.5 SOHC doesn't like them at all.
