Big issues w/ my 2000 Lanos 1.6L

I will get some this week. I remember though back when I got the car, I could not locate a PCV. I was gonna replace it for regular maintenance. Then I was told it did not have one.

I think the pcv he's talking about MMamdouh, is the PCV Valve which is part number: 1997210 in the lanos. It's part of the fuel system.

now i am lost...

what does this other PCV reffer to? and what is its function? can it cause oily engine bay if it is acting up?

again if the lanos got this other PCV valve that Aneab is regffering to then the guys that gave burples10 the advice is still wrong.

hey Aneab got a pic or a diagram for this PCV ??

P.S: Aneab in arabic means jaws so you have to promis their will be no "biting" involved here (j/k)

Well MMamdouh I will look again to see if I can find it. And yes I was referring to the one from the valve cover to the intake. And in that pic, that was the first place I looked when I was gonna replace it over a year ago. I have even replaced that hose since I bought the car. But I just can not seem to find a PCV. Maybe I am just not seeing it or it looks unlike other PCV's I have seen that I overlooked it. But thanks for the help so far. I guess my 3 day weekend is going to be spent working on that car.

This is a little info on PCV in a toyota, but the same general concept with all cars.

Just a quick note, a lot of cars have PCV valves.. I think our cars, do not, as they use the first method in that PDF file which doesn't contain valves at all, but rather it has two breather hoses that evenly distribute the pull ... So to answer his question, I don't think we have one, and he's looking for a phantom spring loaded valve.

Also, this would explain why we have two hoses that attach to our oil catch cans...

So in a way you were right, the breather tube is our PCV valve... I had to go research it cuz i knew the hose was used as part of the system, but didn't remember ever finding the valve on my car either...
