engine c20sed (turboed)
oil: castrol gtx ( regular oil)
oil filter: fram
when first started cold, oil pressure is 40psi( it should be 60psi or higher) .when hot, from idle to 3000rpm oil pressure is fine to 30 psi. it follows the rpm just as it should. after that, oil pressure pegs at 30psi if i go higher in rpm. anyone have this problem? how did you solve it?
ps: it was a brand new pump when i rebuilt the engine. its done about ~2000 miles.
i am also going to change the guage but i dont think it is the gauge since i get 40psi max at cold start, then when hot, 30psi max on the guage.

How big is your oil feed line? Where are you taking the feed from (same as LET?). Also, when you installed your oil pickup tube, did you remember to replace the o-ring? Finally, did your oil pump came with new oil pressure regulator spring? If you re-used your old, it may be 'tired'. In that case, try to shim it to increase the tension.

the line i am using is the same line that i used from the start and had perfect oil pressure. the point at which the oil is taken is the same as the let. when it ran for the first time, oil pressure was perfect 60 psi. ~1000miles later, oil pressure max is 40psi, then later 30psi max. as for using old spring, i am not sure. i remember the new pump missing some minor part and took it out of the old pump. might be the spring i replaced. i also tought it was the spring or sticky relife valve. i have an old c20ne pump spring. might try that with washers too. need oil change too. if all dont work, i will need pricing for a brand new pump. i have to do all that work over. its coldddd out sssside.

Hi all,
A side note to this.
Fram oil filters at one time were considered one of the best. I have used them since the 1950's.
I am also on a motorcycle forum where one of the guys has done quite a bit of reasearch on oil/ and oil filters;
http://motorcycleinfo.calsci.com/Filter ... OilFilters
Anyway the Fram motorcycle filters are on the bottom of his list.
Seems that Fram no longer makes a great filter
After I read about them. I quit buying them for any of my vehicals.
Please take this for what it's worth to you.
