it can be a too big intercooler or intercooler piping
get a bigger throtel body
lighter flywheel
bigger exhaust
that can give you less lag
although for a street car it isnt good to have instant boost befores 3000rpm

The size is 550x140x65 INTERCOOLER WITH 2.25 INCH INLETS so its not big at all im going to do a port and polish on the throttle body next week what is the size currently on the lanos throttle body and what size can i port to.

The turbo is finished i got it back from the dyno's yesterday as he also pointed out the lag part from that he was happy also which is a good thing,as you said maybe the cable is loose slightly as it seems to start at the throttle maybe the buttefly is sticking maybe once they port they will change butterfly hopefully that should do it cause once i do that and put it on and still does it then ill be scratching my headAudacity Racing wrote: Read people... he had the lag before the turbo... plus I don't think the turbo is even installed yet is it?
Maybe the cable is loose that opens the butterfly

I read that but I figured it wasn't a problem...just kinda normal cuz I can see people mistaking lag for just plain low power on the low end.Audacity Racing wrote: Read people... he had the lag before the turbo...

When I ran the Lanos with 7.5 - 1 compression it was a pig to drive till it hit 2500, pulling of from the lights required me to rev it up to get it on boost, THATS LAG. Infact the Lag was so bad, the car could easily be stalled if you wern't careful.
Hence these days, with the ability to set fueling and timing electronically, it is better to aim for a higher compression ratio on turbo cars.
Example:
The Opel Kadett/Astra 200TS that came out in South Africa in the early 90's ran a compression ratio in the high 9's, and ran a smallish KKK Turbo to give 160kw off the factory floor ........ remember, thats off the front wheels only(No 4x4) in 1994, that was a strong car. and had no lag!
You must also realise that until you get on boost, your motor is now trying to suck air through an intercooler and the turbo, where as before it took air from the factory filter box, or even better a CAI .
So until the turbo starts to spin, it might actually be strainig to breath. Just a thought.
