Changing out of Cam Position Sensor LEGANZA and Nubira

Post by chefrobert »

I had a sporadic CEL for past 6 months (On a day off a day) code was 2401 I believe-not enough voltage to cam position sensor.

I had heard the dealer gets 400-500 bucks for this. I got one out of a parts car for 25 bucks and it took exactly 1 hour to change . There is no need to pull
timing cover, pulley belts etc..... You simply remove airbox, support engine, remove engine mount. and then inspection cover. Also you remove piece that covers the plugs (2 hex bolts) Piece is attached with 1 star bolt (I used a worn 6 point 1/4 " socket) You want a size 9 Star which I have never found) I am confident I could do this change out in less than 20 minutes
once I had all of my tools!!!! Level of difficulty is EASY !!!
I currently own two
different 2001 CDX Leganzas
Great Great Experiences thus far!
As long as my timing belt hold out!
