Gains from Ground Wire kit?
Has anyone documented any gains from installing a ground wire kit? Any bump in HP? Responsiveness?

The Factory Daewoo battery post cable (ring) connections are wimpy.
Buying a 'kit' or just upgrading your stock cables is a good idea.
Any ground is only as good as its connection at the negative battery post, the engine block and the body of the vehicle.
Clean all contact points to shiny bare metal. Use a smear of 'dielectric grease' on each connection.
Bolt them up tight and check from time to time with a meter.
Remember electricity is like water, it follows the path of least resistance. It will take the shortest/easiest path it can find. Makes me wonder why some grounding kits come with so many cables.

Right - I did see a write up on do your own. I found a kit on ebay for $25 delivered that I think would work.daewoomofo wrote:you dont need to buy a "kit". you can make one from some 4 guage welding cable. all you really need is battery negative to engine block, batery negative to body, and a body to block.

I'd disagree, I think it did allot more for me than just better response and smoother running and allot of other forenza/reno owners are being blown away by how big of a difference something so little/cheap can doTheSage wrote: That won't add power, but may make you car run a bit smoother.

the key is efficiency!
larger ground leads to your ALT being able to produce a steady power out put because of less resistance. by putting out a stead power current your ECU, injectors, etc can respond more evenly and accurately.
a ground wire kit wont add more HP but it will free up a bit just from the engine running more efficiently.
a 16 volt sealed battery would do much the same any and would complement a good ground kit.
