Has the engine over heated?
Was it just the head gasket that leaked?

If the engine has over heated, then the head will need to be shaved or replaced if it has warped too much.
It will also need a new head gasket and the antifreeze and oil will all have to be replaced.

If you could give a few more details, it will be more helpful.

Thanks!

well actualy i would always get it shaved...
1. compresion will go up a little (not really noticible but hey:p )
2. yust to be on the safe side.... i mean say it heated up on one place and not a other and when you run low on water temp meter in car doesnt always show overheating effect good.

yust my 2 cents... its yust getting it shaved doesnt cost alot and then your sure teh job is done propper (keep in mind im saying this from a mechanics point of view needing to place warenty on my work  )

You should atleast get it to a mchine shop and get the to pressure test it. They will also be able to tell you if the head is warped or not and that is why you would skim it. TO be honest, more times you would have to skim the head but it is the safest thing to do becuase you are sure of what you are putting back on the car, so you don't have to worry about anyhting. I know that in Jamaica, where i am from, they hardley skim the heads and seem to get away with it most of the time. TO be honest, I would skim depending on how much money you have and how long you can go without your car, it is the best thing to do imho

Shave the head....make more power....have lots of fun.

If your worried about valve clearance you just need to get a thicker gasket to make up for the amount shaved off.

I've had many aluminum heads shaved and every car I've done it to has not only had better power.... they seemed to get better gas mileage :D

I had a Toyota 22RE engine shaved to the point where another 0.5mm would cause contact problems.... and wow did it have some jam afterwords... I could chirp the tires going into third (sticky 235/65/15 Bridgestones)

I never had it dyno tested but it really made a huge difference.

Anyone who tells you that you shouldn't shave a Daewoo head doesn't know their head from their arse. (just my opinion)
