Its dead
Found someone to look @ the car and said its gone unless I want to do serious engine work, which I dont have the $$$ for, so would it be worth parting out the working parts of the engine? It only had 59000 miles on it and no other problems that Im aware of...

There is a sound in the engine that sounds like ball bearings were dropped into it... As Ive been sick, I found out that the 2 people that said they would look @ it started it up and heard the noise and backed away, wouldnt even take it apart... They said it wasnt coming from the valve cover but somewhere deeper... Now that Im feeling half way decent I am going to go listen to it and possible drain the oil tomorrow to see if anything comes out. . The noise can be heard from w/in the house while the car is outside and the garage is closed so its pretty loud...
The engine is the stock 1.6 that came in the '99 Lanos...

So if something is wrong with the interior of the block, and if You don't have abilities to repair it by Yourself , best option probably is swapping the engine. For the same one, or ... Bigger
Ofcourse if it comes from "known hands" Otherwise i would repair the existing one Or ... C20NE - almost undestructible
