@.@ the lanos 1.6 dohc is rated at 106hp. wow, i was thinking less and hopeing for more. lols.
and i top-ed my hatch @ 115-120mph. the spedo is electrical, so it likes to fluctuate badly, and its not as accurate when maxing out. but my top.
with alot of extra weight too. :/ and 100mph around here is heaven as its lots of traffic. but those days are over too,
never calculated my MPG, so cant help you there, just know its better than my last car. :)

The speed cut out is 120mph on all Woos. This was the factory speed rating on the hankook tires they used. Vehicles top speed are calibrated in consideration with the installed tire's max rated speed when they are designed.

Daewoo decided to go with Hankooks rated at 120mph top speed, hence the speed cut out at 120.

IN 2001 Daewoo switched to kuhmos iirc due to customer complaint of the hankooks. However the speed rating on these stayed the same and hence the same 120mph speed cut out.

And the service manual says 120 lol. being a tech I will trust the service manual over the owners every time lol. besides the stock tires are rated at 120 so that kinda backs up the service manual's claims...

but there really is only one way to find out

found a physically loose wire on Cyl 2.....

changed air cleaner element.

29.5 mpg, and leaving most SUVs in the dust!

I've been averaging between 28-30mpg.

My Lanos only tops out at 90-95mph and feels very lose at higher speeds.

I'm in Illinois in the USA.....

Almost 3 mos. now, MPG steady at 28, performance is awesome!

Now if I can just get rid of all the damn snow and ice here....

(BTW I was just in California and I rented an AVEO, 2 years old....NICE car but oddly familiar (LOL) ...the guy at the Enterprise car rental kept trying to give me a PT CRUISER, since the Aveo "is a small, basic car...." LOL
I wouldn't take a PT Cruiser if they gave it to me....junk.....

The Aveo ran great and the performance was about the same as my Lanos (but the RADIO was nicer, lol)....

Naw the Aveo is a better car than the lanos... smoother idle and tuned for quiter operation, i will agree the pt cruiser is pure garbage. Thank god chrysler wont be around anymore to produce anymore domestic disasters...

28mpg in the Woo is pretty impressive. Honestly I dont even kno what my woo does because I barely drive the thing. Got 39,487 miles when i purchased it, rwo years ago almost, and now has just shy of 43k miles. I did crank it up on the 24th, and lent it to some realtives in visiting, so it got some use. The last time it ran? well when a certain someone needed help solving a performance problem lol...

Daewoolover I would chk for common maintenance like filters, plugs, etc based on mileage, also if there is one thing these cars are is TIGHT on the road. Check the steering for wear and play, and the front suspension...
