VALVE COVER GASKET ANYONE?

Post by RhinoWrecker »

I have a 2000 Leganza, but the bad thing about it is that a chick used to own it before me. She never took it to get tune-ups. So now i have the bad end of the stick. I took it in to a mechanic and they told me that it's the valve cover gasket. Ok, but ive checked everywhere and no sign of one. Can someone point me in the direction of where i can maybe order one?

Where to buy a valve cover gasket

Post by Bglad »

If you go to www.autopartsworld.com they have gaskets in stock and you can have it delivered in two days with express mail for $22.00. Also keep in mind that it is easy to change the gasket, but after I chnaged mine is when I started having problems with my valves tapping. Good luck and if you need any help let me know.

Ok, you can find the valve cover gasket on ebay, I got one a couple weeks ago, There is an ebay store called daewoo_parts and he has a lot of stuff for our cars. Also, the problem with the valves tapping, you need to make sure that there is nothing in the valve train, cauise if u left anyhting in there it would casue a problem, also, you should remove the valve cover loosening the screws from the outer edges and working your way in and then the revers for putting it back on, start in the middle and then work your way out evenly. and do not over tighten the screws, or it will cause the gasket to spread and leak
