ummm... sounds like the PWS pump.

use a long screw driver to listen to the pump while a friend steers the wheels to make sure it is the pump indeed.

Forgive my ignorance, but what do you mean by "using a screw driver to listen to the pump"?
And how would I tell if it was the pump... what noise should I listen for?

thanks for helping out a nub :)

If the fluid is full and in well condition, then check the stablizer links.

get a long screw driver and put one end on the pump and the other end on your ear creating a solid medum were sound can effecently travel... check if that screaching nois is comming from the pump or not.

Ok, thanks mmadouh. I haven't done the screw driver test yet but I noticed something else.

I can hear pretty much the same noise while the car is idling, even if its on park and im not touching the steering wheel....Its not as loud as when I steer in the sound clip I posted but that screeching is definitely there...
does this point towards the pws pump as well?

In that case, Im guessing the fix would involve replacing the pump right?

could be the PWS bearings?... you gotta pinpoint the noise to know the defective part, so far we only know that steering makes it more obvious to listen to the PWS pump and alternator as well.
