Yeah!
I got the parts yesterday! that was fast! the parts were sent on Thursday morning (from Spain) and they were at my home yesterday morning
16 brand new bronce guides!
16 valve seals!
timing belt!
Today the head is going to a well known machine shop to get some cleaning and get the guides/seals installed!
Next step will be the block assembly (new piston rings) and the custom management/intake from a Honda! (the ECU chip will be full programmable)
I already have pictures of the intake but they're at a friends home (since my monitor is burned) i will get them tonight and post them tomorrow morning...

Unfortunally it would take more time than expected.... the head will be back on fridayTim04 wrote:Keep us informed. When will everything be back from the machine shop?

Finally after some days at the machine shop the head is "READY"
i got it on sartuday
but another problem has appeard...
1 exhaust valve is broken... how?
when i bought the engine the head was in a bad shape (thats why i had to buy new guides and seals) i didnt realise this until we tried to "turn" the engine to see if there was something strange... well it did "turn" but it locked without doing a full cycle... my mechanic tried to turn it several times but strangly it got "locked" again and again and again... a strange sound came out off the engine... something like "clack!"
So we took the head off.... YIKES! it was looking bad... (the engine had over 1 year without any movement)... one exhaust valve was "welded" because of the rust and it was "open" all the time ... all others were all rusty so was the head... this is why the engine was locking... get it? the piston hitting the valve... it seems this valve suffered while doing this...
When the head was being rebuilt all did well the new bronce guides were installed without problems... then the time to "seating" valves came or must say lapping the valves... while the guy was doing that.. he took the valve up and for his surprise he came with the upper part of the valve! and yes that one was the one hitting the piston....
So now i've to buy one valve from spain... im already on the process of buying it... but it will take at least 4-5 day to be here.
Looking at the bright side at least it broke OUTSIDE the engine... i dont want to think what would happend if that part breakes inside the engine...
The pics will come soon... my monitor is busted ive to get another... i can only post while im at work...

After 2+ months without car... i've thrown the towell for a couple of weeks more maybe months dont know honestly...
Sorry to disappoint you guys...
Basicly what is left to do is:
- entire engine assembly (still waiting for new exhaust the valve)
- install the engine on the car
- develpoment of a custom ignition adapter for the Honda ignition
- custom fitting for the Honda intake
- wiring
- basic mapping for the ECU
Currently i cant afford to spend more money on the car...
for now i'll keep taking the bus and taxis to move around...
Again Sorry,
Ill keep you updated when i can start again...

Here's some pics of the Custom Intake
Some pictures are a bit blur... my bad i was playing with the camera settings and i didnt notice the mess...
The intake is from a Honda Prelude 2.0 (F20A) this intake lines up perfectly with the C20XE intake tubes...
F20A Intake
C20XE intake already cut
They do line up...
This is basicly were the F20A will be cut to weld the C20XE base. They dont seem to line up perfectly on this picture but they really do.
C20XE Valves (left: admision, rigth: exhaust)
And finally my car doing some push-ups!
I've just realise i didnt take any pictures of the block/head... well next time i will, promise :P

After a couple of weeks of sleep...
the head is almost finished... valves, lifters and seals are installed.... cant be finished (install the cams) beacuse it needs a custom made "braket" for the new ignition setup... more details later...
right now (11am) they must be working with the block... yesterday the pistons were taken out to be cleaned today and get the new rings installed...
ill take a digi cam today to take some pics of the head.

For those who dont know what a C20XE is:
It was introduced in the Opel Kadett GSi/Vauxhall Astra GTE in 1989...
Is a 2.0 16v DOHC engine... its an "older" version of the T/U20SED 2.0 16v (used on the nubira, leganza, etc)
it was 150 HP and 145 lb.ft of torque @ 6800 rpms...
with the new intake and ecu setup we plan to gain at least 10-15 HP and rising the rev limiter to 7000 rpm for now... then ill get ARP rod bolt and then rise it to 7500 rpms.

UPDATE!
Some pics:
Assembled C20XE head (obviouly the cams are not installed)
exhaust ports:
intake ports:
valves:
Dirty pistons:
dirty block:
crank close up (damn camera)
the engine had the oil pan damaged when i bought it... so these broken screws where taken out. (auto mode... damn camera again...)
Here's something intresting... the block has a small crack....
but there's no sing of oil coming out from there...
My mechanic says that is ok... he will try to treat that with some "solid plastic".
Today the block/pistons should be fully cleaned...
ill post more pics tomorrow...
Slowly but im getting there

Sorry i havent posted this pics before...
The block has cleaned on thursday...
Crank being cleaned:
Block/bores being cleaned:
old gasket:
Cleaned pistons:
Yesterday the block was going to be assembled but as usual something happends...
when my mechanic was going to put the new rings on the pistons he notice the oil rings were huge .... WTF!!!!
i got the rings wrong from the DIESEL version!!! :lmao:
Oh well... my mechanic quickly searched for a solution... sometime ago i was doing throwing some numbers with an SR20DET pistons... well i still had one piston at the shop... guess what ??? the piston rings MATCH perfectly... so ill use SR20DET rings on my XE
Why? well the daewoo rings are more expensive than the Japanese ones :P
today my daewoo mechanic will sell the diesel rings and get the new rings for me and send them to the shop
