Newer GM V6 engine - gearbox

Post by ziemniak_PL »

Hi!
Lately I've been wondering - does anybody know if f.e. 3.6l V6 from Catera has the same mounting points for the gearbox as 3.2, 3.0 and 2.5? ;)
Maybe somebody has a possibility to check if f.e. R25 gearbox does fit 3.6 mounting points?>
Thanks and greets from Poland :)

As far as I know the newer 3.6L is not in the same engine family as the 2.5L / 3.0L previously found in the Catera/Omega so it probably wouldn't have the same mounting points.

I could be wrong on this one....

Having said that I believe that you can make any engine fit into any car if you have the right amount of time, knowledge and money.

The bellhousing pattern is different, but even if it were the same it would not work due to engine management. The auto trans is computer controlled and not compatible with the 3.0l etc engine management system...
