anyway... the cel came on. no big deal, right? we drove for oh... 45 more seconds... and WHAMO!!!! the engine started to sputter and bump and act all strange like. i immediately pulled over...

my first indication was to check the oil... looked fine. i tried to rationalize it real quick and thought... the cel is tripped by one of like 4 things.... air temp sensor (in my case a choco-chip), O2 sensor, cam position sensor, or the tps... i knew by the way the engine was sputtering that it wasn't an O2 sensor... so it had to be one of the other three...
that's when i found the most horrific thing in my life... i went looking for my choco chip and was horrified to find the wiring harness for it had gotten sucked into my intake pipe (through the hole where the sensor is supposed to go). i pulled the harness out only to find... MY CHOCO CHIP HAD BEEN SUCKED INTO MY MANIFOLD!!!!
holy crap... i'm taking the throttle, manifold, and head off tomorrow to look at the damage. i'm pretty sure that the choco chip got int my valves... and prolly bent them all up... oh lordy
anyone with extra valves laying around for the 1.6 lanos needs to pm me... anyone with advice or something to help me... post!!!
HELP ME!!!!!

***UPDATE***
since it's night and i can't see a whole lot with my crumby lamp... i decided to go ahead and take the exhaust manifold off... there is evidence of a viscous goo inside two of the pipes (not much mind you)... i think i found all the coating on the choco chip...
