Lanos a/c compressor

Post by mr_ee2002 »

Hi guys
I have a 2002 lanos and my a/c compressor doesn't give an enough pressure so I get a normal air
or a hot air, they told me that lanos a/c compressor couldn't be fixed and I need to change it with a new one
whereas the new one is very expensive

so, is this true and if not how can I fix it

Hi,

Look here (no I don't have any royalties) http://www.id-usa.com to have a general overview about pressures and how to refill AC circuit. Maybe you are low on refrigerant.
The compressor is normally serviceable (at least I think) with specific tools but thenafter you need to vacuum the system and refill it with the correct amout of R134a and oil. Check here http://chevy.mrmax.dp.ua/EN/GMDE_TIS_START.html if you can find something looking like your compressor.

Be carefull. Refrigerant gas can frozen felsh in second.

i had long issues with my A/C compressor.

first it was not blowing cold air, got it checked and found out i was low on gas, got it refilled for a 1 week check and it was working fine at first.

after a week it went back to hot air again, i had to replace a valve at the bottom of the A/C along with the low level refill port, A/C worked fine for a month then went back to hot air.

throughout inspection showed leaky seals at the top of the compressor, got them replaced and things were good for 4 months.

two days ago i was in hot air setuatio once more, replaced 2 seals at theside of the compressor and the high pressur refill cap... so far things are nice and i am waiting to see if i get any more trouble.

my recommendation is to check if you have low gas level... if so then you need to replace all 4 seals, the valve and both refill ports since you are at it and save yourself the refill costs that i paid.
