Another Lanos!
Here are some pictures from the eBay ad (click thumbs to embiggen):
I'm picking it up this Saturday. There is a small dent in the right-rear quarter just in front of the wheel and a scuff on the rear bumper, but other than it's very clean.
More pictures and info coming once I've got it and the modifications begin, because let's face it... in standard spec they're a bit boring.

Congrats. we will look forward to updates. Glad people are keeping this thing going.
Re: Another Lanos!
Well, this Lanos is different... 3 main differences: no electric windows, no tachometer and no height-adjustable steering column.
But it's no big problem... I'm getting used to. It just means without all the xtras it's lightweight

Re: Another Lanos!
It has begun!
Got a green cotton cone filter for more noise!
And replaced the door speakers with 5" Wharfedale 2-ways for crisper noise.
Next month, hopefully a decent stereo (it's currently got a factory-option Sony unit) and subwoofer for even more noise.
Also looking around for a set of lowering springs... but that's some time off yet by the looks of things. And maybe another front splitter (courtesy of a Renault of some description)
I'm also eyeing up some Subaru bucket seats again - the purchase of which are pending on me selling an old computer on ebay.

Re: Another Lanos!
Thinking of getting some wheels like these:
They remind me a bit of the OEM Daewoo 5 spoke wheels like what was on my previous one.

Yeah, it looks that way from the pictures. It's actually littered in dents and scratches. The dark colour just hides it well, unlike silver.exist3nce wrote:Congrats on getting the Lanos, it looks nice and clean too.
I'm not too fussed about dings and dents - it adds character! lol

Re: Another Lanos!
Quick update...
Didn't go for the dished wheels in the end, but did manage to get some 15" Vauxhall Cesaro 6 spoke alloys in black... for free!
Also put in a pair of JVC 10" subwoofers... but the box is too big, so the bass is really "droney" (it was originally a box for two 12" woofers, but someone put a new front panel with smaller holes in on top and put 10's in instead)
I've also taken off the gear knob... and replaced it with a shiny shaft, but this will be covered up soon with the likes of a rubber grip or something like it.
Next on the list is a noisier exhaust and lower suspension.
Pictures to follow...

Re: Another Lanos!
Still no pictures because I keep forgetting to take some... But, just ordered a set of Brembo discs and pads for the front. Replaced the back box with a straight cut smaller box off a Ford Fiesta.
Will post some pictures and videos at some point.

Re: Another Lanos!
Lowered the rear end today (because I havent sourced anything for the front yet) and also, these are the Vauxhall Cesaro wheels:
Here's the black painted headlights (and grille):
Got bored of the standard gear stick... and made my own.
This is what I've currently got as an exhaust backbox, straight-cut 2 inch from a Ford Fiesta:
...and, I also picked up this bad boy last night (Garrett GT17):

Re: Another Lanos!
After a very short stint of ownership I've sold the Lanos (surprised it sold and I didn't have pay someone to take it) as I couldn't really afford to run it.
For now my daily driver is my wife's Astra H 1.6 (costs about half as much as a Lanos 1.3 to run), but with a possible job change on the horizon I might need a car of my own again.

Re: Another Lanos!
Indeed, I sold it. However, my first Lanos I had for over 6 years (and I wish I kept it).
I've got some good memories and had a lot of fun owning it, but I'm not in a situation where I'm able to own another due to running costs - yearly running costs are more than double their second-hand value, which makes it very expensive in a round-about sorta way.
When I strike it rich (when, not if, haha!) I'll definitely buy another and make it a replica of my first one. Except I'd put in a much bigger engine.
