Hi bud - My setup sounds exacly the same. Bought the engine and ECU from Wolfhound on this forum and I am going to use it alsmost exactly the same way as he had it running reliably for quite some time Will do some development at a later stagejorge wrote:But the 1.6 likes boost my brother lanos with just 8psi makes 193whp and 190wtq 11.9a/f ratio with stock internals, stock exhaust manifold in other words all stock just a td04l, 315cc fuel injectors, apex (a/f tunning). I think that this engines are capable of making much more power with some upgrades

Hi Bud.benzino wrote:200fwkw on stock internals from a 1.4!!! holy hell!
still all that just to have the ringlands break, that's pretty damn impressive
I might have missed a thread, but what happened to your nubi?
Nubi still running, kicking ass and taking names
Power is down a bit from the good old days - only making around 356WKW now at 2.5bar boost.....my tuner reckon it is time for me to refresh my motor with a new set of rings, bearings and a fresh gassflowed head. Also the turbo turbines MIGHT be getting a little tired from all the abuse so yes I will refresh everything early this year and keep you guys posted. Looking at breaking the 400WKW mark now

Yes it is manufactured here in South Africa. But it is a very reliable system and fairly easy to install and tune - Google Dicktator and have a look at their websitebenzino wrote:wow that's insane

PS fitted some 450cc Bosch injectors in the CorsaWoo so we are good to go for 200WKW at least

Re: Help needed - Daewoo Lanos 1.6
OOOOOkay.....so after driving the Corsa for about a month with 160WKW and the rev limiter set at 7000RPM one of the conrod bolts let go and KABOOOOOM - hole in the side of the block
Block, crank, conrod and 1 x Wiseco piston FUBAR.
So now going for an 1800 setup - block and crank, Forged conrods with ARP bolts and Forged Supertech pistons
Busy building the SubAssembly, will get the motor completely together next week and then start with the tedious task of running the car in......
My tuner reckons if I put in a bigger turbo I could aim for around 300WKW....but I am goin to settle for just a reliable 200WheelKiloWatt
Will keep you guys posted

Ha ha yes but it was the RPM that made it give up the ghost not the boost - was only running 0.9barbenzino wrote:that's crazy it let go at 160...

It made 160wKw on 0.9 bar!? That's awesome for a 1.6!

Re: Help needed - Daewoo Lanos 1.6
Sorry to hear about your 1.6L, it's too bad the factory rod bolts were garbage.
Hopefully your 1.8 will be more reliable for consistent power.
I assume it's the larger block ( 1.8 / 2.0 / 2.2 / 2.4 ) or did you do something to push the small block ( 1.4/1.5/1.6 ) to 1.8L ?

Re: Help needed - Daewoo Lanos 1.6
Hi Guys.
I chose to stay with the small block in order to utilise the existing parts as is...otherwise it would have been almost a complete rebuild for everything
Had the car on the dyno - still makes 160KW/298NM on the wheels with the 1800 setup....BUT now that power is delivered at 0.8bar boost and NOT 1.1bar boost as we had on the 1600 setup.
Gonna run it there for a while and later see what I get on 1.5 bar
Will keep you guys posted

Hi there guys
Had the Corsa back on the Dyno today. This time we were running her at 1 bar boost on 95Octane pump fuel with NFRace Ocktane booster(6Ron)
The grapg speaks for itself - this is power on the wheels
Will be boosting harder shorlty - the 440cc injectors do not allow for higher boost as was hoped. Gonna put some 650cc injectors soon and boost het 1.5 bar and see.
