Could not get a Daewoo inner CV anywhere - original or pirate :(

So I opted for an Opel shaft with Opel inner and outer CV`s - now thw Woo is burning rubber again :D

Motor and drivetrain feels a lot more "solid", I also replaced the bushes on the gearselector shaft - gearshits are better/smoother as well now.

Daewoo parts are VERY hard to come by in South Africa, especially body panels etc. Got notified by a buddy of mine that one of his friends has a Daewoo like mine that has been written off by his insurance because of a rearend smash.... :D feel sorry for the bugger but now the car is being stripped for spares and there are quite a few goodies I want for my Woo  :D

Ran the daewoo at the Nitro Raceway this Sunday. First few runs were kak as my gear linkages weren`t set up correctly and speedshifting resultes in "missed" gears - 15.7secs run  Quickly re-adjusted the linkages and it went quite a bit better. Managed 1 x 13.008 sec 400m and then a 13.09sec run. Upped the boost to 2.1 bar (from round 1.9bar I think) and maneged 1 x 12.89 sec 400m :smt003 and just to check did another run at....12.78 secs :D :D :D

Now I can stop chasing the 12 sec 1/4 mile, turn the boost down to 1 bar and enjoy the car :D :D :D

PS - still running an F18 box :D :D :D

Good to hear that you met your goal of getting into the 12's.

I assume your still running the Toyo's.... I bet you had a fast trap speed.

Do you have the trap speed @ 400m for your runs?

Does your track give you time/speed at 200m?

@Precisionboost - my trap speed was 191km/h. As this is a temp track they dont give 200m info. Still running my 17" Toyo`s    but they are almost finished. Will get 15" semislicks, get the engine mounts "solid cast" as there is A LOT of engine movement in the enginebay on the launch and run the car on a PROPPER RACETRACK WITH GOOD TRACTION and see.
@Nexia 182 - will post more vids tonight - done

Thanks bud - I am sure if I manage to get better traction off the line one of two things will happen - 1) I will get lower 12`s on the 400m....or 2) The F18 gearbox will break

Will try with some 15" semis - they should allow for a bit better launch I think???

Hmmmmm..... 191 km/h..... I was thinking it would be up into the 200 km/h range.... but then again I don't know your gearbox ratios.

How fast do you think you can go in 5th Gear?

I worked out from the speedo/revs ratio that if I get the car on the limiter (7000RPM) I will be doing close to 248/250KM/H. The ratio on the gearbox is 3.96?? If that means anything to you???

Thanks bud - havent heard from you in a while - how is the Optra holding up??. We just got these Optra`s here in SA and I saw one that was "pimped" a little the other day and I was like... BEAUTIFULL CAR!!!

Also I am still surprised that my F18 gearbox is still holding up...!!!

Turbo seals gave in after 10 000KM - I suppose it is not bad as I am running 1bar boost for day to day driving and 2bar boost on race days :D :D :D :D

Decided to machine the exhaust housing to fit a bigger T4 exhaust wheel - my tuner reckons this should add round about 20-30KW power on the Woo.

My turbo branch also 4 years old needs to be replaced - waiting for my tuner to build a new one....3weeks now

Also had the engine mount on the gearbox side solid cast with 70% neoprene - gearshift movement is a thing of the past - I should have done this long ago :D

Hoping to get the Woo running before NEXT weekend as it is races then. Will keep uy guys posted on the results ;)
