How do I install DSM 450cc injectors on 2.0L motor?

Post by Nemasys »

Hey guys i went thru the FAQ section and couldnt find what i was looking for.

Im sure someone on here can tell me what you have to do to make DSM 450cc "Bluetop" injectors fit the fuel rail and intake manifold on a 2.0L motor found in the Optra/Forenza (U20SED).

If im not mistaken i think you only have to modify the seals, what do i have to do to the seals to make them fit.

Thanks!

Is that what they look like?

The injector should fit into the stock rail and ports in the intake manifold i believe, but you may have to modify the tabs that hold the rail to adjust for the different height of the injector. The may mean bending the tabs slightly up or down to make it fit. Best way is to try them out, or compare with a stock injector side by side.

Yep those are the ones, i just ordered a set on ebay. They come with the resistor box (wont need it with the megasquirt but whatever) and they also come with 4 connectors so its going to be easy to splice them in the existing harness.

I looked around a bit after i posted this and i also think they should go in pretty easy.

Btw Jason, i decided to get the megasquirt after all, i ordered it yesterday, so ill install it with the turbo kit, instead of trying to run it untuned like i was going to do at 1st lol

I need a new engine cause this one has a bad oil leak from the crankshaft seal on the belts side, I already got it changed last summer but it never stopped leaking, it doesnt leak as much as it used to prior to changing the old seal but it seems to be getting worse lately. So what i will do is install everything, tune this engine with the megasquirt and after everything runs good, swap in a fresh engine good to go!

Who did you order your megasquirt from and which version MSII 3.0 or 3.57 ?

I ask only because I went through the "canadian distributor" and I needed to go through the whole board due to some errors.

Ok good, they are probably the most reliable guys.

The main canadian distributor for megasquirt is https://efi4tuning.com/store.htm

The owner is a nice guy but I had to call him out on a number of incorrect settings and there were some repairs required.

In the end I sent the unit back to him and he sent me a new one, but he does have a nice adapter board with prototyping area on it to help with adding certain functions.
