you could ditch the AC compressor, and condenser. its not a very good idea, but you could take the front and rear bumpers off (not the covers, but the actual bumpers inside of them) all of the plastic trim pieces in the trunk the heater core, and blower motor. airbags. all you have to do is be creative and you should be able to loose a lot of weight from your car

Easy.
- Remove spare wheel and replace it with an anti-puncture kit (air compressor and a quimic liquid thing).
- Remove rear seats.
- If you do so, you could move battery to the trunk in order to restore a little balance.
- Replace front seats for racing buckets. (can be done for "cheap" if you use sparco buckets - good quality-price ratio)
- Replace steel for fiber-glass in hood and fenders. If you have the skills it can be done cheap.
- Polycarbonate instead of glass on windows. (a little more expensive than the other mods, actually)

EDIT:
- 15" alloys would be the best compromise choosing wheels for a lanos.
- Good tyres help in weight reduction too.

And when you crash your car will completely disintegrate right?

Keep in mind if you were to remove them, that should you get in an accident, the frame will bend and the car will probably be totalled

No guys i dont want a tin can!!! I still need it to be ridged because my wife might be driving the car. I was looking for the basic stuff not anything crazy.

The seats and some basic parts could go without leaving me stranded.

What ever happened with that hood? Looks nice!!

Chose what you would afford to do:
