In my quest for wisdom and all the posts I read, there was something about fuel pumps, and the lanos pump not being able to cope with an increased displacement engine swap. I think it was a discussion with kinky and nubira2.2 from 2008...
Anyway, I got out a fuel pump catalogue I had to check for myself.
According to the catalogue, the lanos (all models) and the leganza (all models) have the SAME fuel pump. This probably explains why the lanos is a thirsty little beast for the size of the engine (or maybe it's just my right foot )
The nubira, on the other hand has two different pumps...
Intrestingly enough, the lanos/leganza pump flows 123l/hr which is more than other gm/vauxhall/opel fuel pumps (vectra, calibra, etc)
and the data:
fuel pump................inlet (mm)...outlet(mm). kpa.. l/h...amp. kpa max
lanos/leganza/nubira..... 26................5.......300..123..5.8..550
.
vectra 2.0 (c20sel)........12.................9......300..106..4.5.. 500
.
x20xev/c20xe/c20let.....12...............9........300.. 120.. 6.3.. 500
.
nubira.......................11.................9......350..94... 5.5.. 600
.
hopefully that clears anything up. Also, this is Australian data so it may be different from country to country, it is only a guideline to show that a 1.5-2.2 share the same fuel pump with no problems.
Thanks
