BRAKE ROTOR/DISK REPLACEMENT??

hey guys

last week i dropped my mums 2001 Lanos 1.5 SOHC E-TEC to get it serviced..
we've had the car for 4 1/2 years and its only gone 22,200km's

anywayz i drop the car off.. then later the mech rings me up saying that the front brake disks need replacing?? im like wtf??
i asked him if they could be machined .. hes lik "no they're too thin"...
this came as a shock coz the cars only 4 1/2 years old and its only gone 22k...

he told me it was 'urgent' and that "it was common with these cars"
i smelled BS so i didnt go ahead with the replacement..

anywayz any advice appreciated...

i had problems with my rotors on my 1.5 SOHC lanos after some 16,500 Kms of use... you are lucky to face this at some 22,000 Kms.

one advice thoug... don't get the OEM rotors, get brembo rotors or something... it is much better.

how much did u pay for ur rotors if you dont mind me asking?
in $USD or $AUD would be appreciated...

does anyone know any online stores (that sell BREMBO products) such as www.tirerack.com that can ship their products overseas... ie .. Australia

E-Mail Tirerack.com, I have done business with them twice and both times they were awesome. I'm sure if you tell them the issue they'll ship out to you, only problem is that shipping would be a bitch cause those damn Brembos have some weight to them. As for fitment - perfect, and functionality - after bedding it braking is excellent.
