DAMN GEAR STICK

ok, i have a daewoo racer and the prob is in the gear stick
i lose most my speed switching from 1 to second gear which pisses me off, it dosnt sound like bad clutch discs cause there is no sound when shifting AT ALL , but it is sometimes anoying on high speed trying to raise the gear from 1 o 2nd
less anoying from 2nd to thrid
not anoying at all 3-4 and 4-5
the reverse is the only gear that scratches when i place it
now the mechanic says its from the gear stick and that opels and daewoos have that prob in all the cars almost in comparision to others
so its almost impossible to eliminate it, any advise ????

i have the reverse gear thingy... it is phenominal with all daewoos here... but not a single complaint in other gears, could by your syncro (spelling??) rings or whatever it is called on your tranny.
