Identifying Daewoo gear boxes

Post by ant0ny »

Does anyone know how to identify which gearbox is which and what final drive they are from the numbers on the casing.

Vauxhall have code numbers on the end plate that identify what final drive is and weather it is close ratio or wide ratio.. + other info like where built etc.

Does Daewoo have the same thing.. I have a few of gear boxes sitting at a wreckers with no tags so I dont know what vehicle they are from.

Hi ant,

I just read this same post but on the astra site, im maniac16v overthere,

im quotating the reply you got
The final drive ratio is stamped into the end cover. It's small and not very easy to read, especially if the aluminium is corroded. This is the code on the 3.94:1 Nexia box I'm about to fit.
