When I go for anything more than 2/3 up the rpm range while accelerating in second, when I shift into third, it grinds. It will go into gear but it dies not sound like it wants to...Any thoughts??

If I can remember right 3rd gear seams to be a weak link in our trannys.
I know my car was grinding alot going into 2nd and 3rd but I have a decent amount of mods... though the stock clutch should have been able to handle it.
Another thing generally people shift to high... I know I did this for along time. Say your power drops off at 5800rpms but then you shift at redling (6500?). After 5800rpms your not making much power, but when you shift back up into the sweet spot is rushes you forward and is extra hard on the tranny.
