Bigger Brakes and other questions....

Hey Guys n girls,

First, my car is Lanos 97' 1.4ltr 8v,
Its probably been on here before, but here the questions go...

1) What bigger brakes are a straight swap? Or with little modding? i.e from a Nubria 2.0

2) Where can i get a suspension kit including dampers n springs for a Lanos? A straight swap from Kadette E/Astra GTE, true or false?

3) Where can i get a short shifter for gearbox?

4) If i was to get a 2.0 ltr engine C20xe Would the gearbox fit? or would a Lanos 1.6 be better?

Any help is always apreciated.

Hi mate.... this should answer your questions:

- all brake kits designed for Mk2 Astra GTE will fit, including the OEM GTE brakes
- Suspension components from GTE do fit, but you will need to use your own upper mounts. Mk3 Astra "might" fit, but for this has not been confirmed
- talk to kinkyllama regarding short shifter
- if your 1.4 Lanos has the D16 gearbox, it bolts to the XE block

I'll look for the Astra GTE brake kit and buy now i know it fits.
Ok with the suspension do you mean the black bit that you can see from under the bonnet?
I have the D14 i believe, but i can confirm when it goes for MOT n service on 23rd Jan.
If i get the C20xe, and then get a Lanos D16 gearbox it should all come together yep?
