Having trouble get into 2nd gear
Having trouble getting into 2nd gear. Can get into it from first gear but its hard. Can not downshift to second at all. I stop, put in first, then start moving again like at light, and can puty in second again put its like I have to shift hard to get into 2nd. I dont shift it to hard, it might make it worse. No grinding when this happens. Any idea what the problem might be?

Coud be a gear selector problem, out of alignment or the bushes in it have gone a bit soggy.
Not sure if your gearbox has this but, it's worth having a look at.

my gears were a bit had to engage and going from 2 to 3 is a bit hard... replacing tranny oil made shifting better but still going from 2 to 3 is a bit sluggish... atleast compared to my dad's car
replace tranny oil if you are over 60k kms ad check the lenkage.

I don't have any issues going into 4th.
I have 56k miles on it, so I guess I can check the fluids.

i took off the cover on my shift gear and found the alighnment holes but i can see that the stick will not be in dead neutral position, instead it will be mid way between first and second gears... right?Pir0 wrote:Coud be a gear selector problem, out of alignment or the bushes in it have gone a bit soggy.
