more or less a pre-final price?
You will have to talk to Tom about pricing..... it was designed to work with the Isotta shift knob.... so purchasing a knob may be a requirement.... I'm not sure what other aftermarket knobs look like at this point.
The shift knob is probably going to be more than half the price of the short shifter..... Tom said he would try and find some less expensive knobs but who knows if any will work with the current design.
Not that man... the shift stick is a peice of cake, over and done with... their is some sorta of a plastic cage where the stick is moving within.
according to what Erfinder said... that cage is supposed to be still in its place right now... it is held by 4 10mm bolts to the center tunnle of the car and the stick is mounted from its top and their is a long metal pole comming from the fire wall going throught the front of that cage.
i already took off the 4 10 mm bolts but the metal pole is a pain in the ass, Erfinder if you did remove that part please tell me how did you remove the metal pole from the plastic cage.
the reason i want to take mine off is that some dirt went into the part that "Acing team" highlighted and the shifting started to sound like grinding sand and the stick was stiff too.
i already made a fast cleanup and lube for the stick and all but i am a cleanup maniac... i want to take off the whole assemble, tare it down to the last bit, clean it up, lobe it up then put the whole thing back together.
i was on the verge of estableshing that till i was obstructed by that damn pole... so if you are going to do that anytime in the future... please share the steps you did to get it done.
Yes I'm sure, what his cutting is only the plastic part surrounding the shaft and then attaching those pieces together. Even if they do come of while driving, the only thing that wouldn't be working is your reverse lockout device. Because that's the thing being cut.
do anyone know how much yo have to reduce from the linkages next to the gearbox to obtain a quickshift and reduce more leaver travel as there is a lot of travel on my cielo lever?
Your looking at the "make it yourself" version..... the other version does not use this "melt together" idea.
If you look at the picture with the red circle on it you will notice the top half is totally different. (near the top of this page )
I machined a piece out of aluminum on my lathe and attached it via screwing it on with high strength Epoxy in the threads.
I can pretty much guarantee that it will never come apart.... you would have to break the plastic with a hammer and then drill it out to get the machined aluminum piece free again.
