Closest fit BodyKits
Hey everyone, this is a very general question but are there any bodykits that are made for a honda but also fit the woo. It doesnt have to be honda but if there are any that need minimal fabrication it would be usefull.

the neons are pretty esay form wht i've heard. you don't have to splice it in half or anything. look here.

You can make any kit fit but you need the mounting points from a Woo.
You must use the Woo bumper as a mold for fiberglass to get the top of bumper then cut aftermarket bumper top off and join the fiberglass part you made.
It is the length from corner to wheel well you must worry about as you must trim this off and you may lose some of the characteristics of the aftermarket bumper.
i.e. a Honda rear, you must cut off about 14" of side. That's a lot to lose.

So now you have fiberglass on the outside and you gotta sand it all down smooth....and the first time bumper touches something it snaps off (and you run over it...lol)....Have fun.
If you are going to use fiberglass anyway........do it this way -
Clean inside of Woo bumper
Apply 4 - 6 coats of paste wax (high heat wax is best) to the top 12" of bumper
Put on a layer, 15 minutes, wipe it off, 15 minutes another layer, 4 - 6x
Gelcoat the inside (about 1/8" thick) and let dry for 24hrs
Apply resin and fiberglass cloth to gelcoat (at least 1 layer of 6oz) and let dry for 24hrs.
Insert screwdriver/prybar to pop fiberglass bumper out (here is why the wax is important).
If everything was waxed properly it should pop out pretty easy.
Nice and smooth on the outside.....
Do the same thing to the bottom of other bumper.
Take both pieces and screw together with drywall screws (about 1"-11/2" overlap
Take measurements of height, etc so it lines up properly
Fiberglass cloth and resin along inside and let dry 24hrs
Take out screws and apply body plastic/filler to crack on front of bumper
Let dry and sand smooth
Apply spot putty where needed, sand and prime.
May need more putty as primer will show scratches and stuff.
Prime again
Paint and clear...
Voila - one custom bumper
I am working on a rear now so I will post pics in a day or two of the steps involved.

I wonder if Ford Focus kits are closer or more different than Neon kits. If you look at a focus hatchback and squint, I swear it transforms into a Daewoo Lanos (or an Aston Martin, but to each his own ).
The width "seems" only a couple inches off, can anyone comment if the kit is better to fit than a Neon kit?

I don't know of any "how-to" pages but I'll try to show you.Do u know any good pages with "tutorials"? With pics and stuff like that. I would like to learn more 'bout working with fibreglass.
These are pics of parts out of the molds and then put together.
All parts out of the molds and must be trimmed with jigsaw/grinder.
Then measurements are made and pieces are joined with drywall screws.
Once joined, use fiberglass mat and resin on inside to properly join pieces.
IMPORTANT - Wear latex gloves while doing the fiberglass.
