Flaired rear fenders & rolled fender edges :)

Since I decided to keep the wheels I have, I wanted to get the fender edges rolled so my tires do not get cut on the sides.
My friend owns a paint and body shop and said he could flair the body and rear fenders, too.

I stopped off at the garage today and the car looks great!
It will be done and picked up at 4PM so I should be able to post a few pics after I get home.

He said he moved the body out and made about 3 inches more room.
You do not see very much, but you can tell it has been flaired.
The car looks wider from the back end now, too.
All that is left is to buy the new tires some time this week.

While he has the car, he is painting the mud flaps gloss black at all 4 wheels.

Does anyone have pics of rolled fenders? i still dont fully understand what the finished product would look like

rolled fenders is just pushing up that little 1/2 inch flap of metal in the wheel well. that way it doesn't catch the tire and rub. nothing to make it look fancy.

I thought it was more than that. I know it isnt for looks. A local racer (cant remember what he drives) fit an inch wider wheels from rolling the fenders though so i though there was more to it than that little flap

well i guess you could do more than that little flap. i just wouldn't try it b/c then it can damage the paint.

It was $40.
My orrigional quote for $10 was just to roll the edge up.
The $40 was to roll the edge up, flare the body and paint the mud flaps black.
He didn't mask the flaps very well and overpainted a very small line onto the silver paint.
When I got home, I took the mud flaps off to clean the paint and found I like the car better without them! LOL

Anyway, I am resizing the pics right now and will post them in a little while.

when i spin with my car and damaged the mud flap the car looked better with it broken... gave me an idea that i will be working on soon.

Don't worry about the rear bumper edge sticking out a little, that was fixed before I left his garage.

oh hey OZ i forgot to ask you when i asked about the reverse lights. with your spare lanos can you possibly sell me the two little bolts that keeps up the rear bumper right at the wheel well. mine came loose again and fell off so my back bumper is flapping away again. oh looking good man can you take a wide angle shot to see it a bit better?

I have to wait for something ... it's called .... daylight! LOL

I do not have a wide angle lense, but I will stand back and get a better shot.

So far, my tires did not scrape at all, but I am going to to really drive the car hard over some rough back roads in places I know it used to scrape and see how well it does.
If all goes well, I will be able to lower my car with the new springs and shocks and not worry about anything scraping again.


Nick - I'll look on my parts car and check for those bolts for you.

I wish the rain would stop!!


Anyway, I have put all 4 wheels back on the car and driven it pretty hard over the places that used to make the wheels scrape and nothing scraped or rubbed at all!

As soon as this cold rain stops, I'll get pics to post on here for everyone and take those bolts off for you, Nick.


One good thing about rain: it makes your car look cleaner than it really is!! LOL

i rolled my fenders too and then banged them out ill take a pic here in a few seconds but its dark so who knows how well itll turn out.
ps i didnt cut the springs the guy before me did and it is shit for ride and hadling but looks nice(id rather have handling than either ride or looks but eh)
