Steering problem (maybe not)
Hey guys, im just wondering does steering wheel shake little bit in lanoses? is it because of front wheel drive also that it does that?
Re: Steering problem (maybe not)
well... you have to give us more details about that "shaking" you are experiencing as it can be one of many many reasons... this can be due to bad wheel balance, warped rotors, bad tie rod ends, worn steering rack, etc...

Re: Steering problem (maybe not)
it doesint shake a lot, just some play (little), i did wheel balance in the front and it was little better
i dont think some parts are bad, cause when i was changing wheels i noticed difference during driving... it drove well when i had the old rims on (15") but i changed to OEM wheels and it kinda hard to get use to....

i inspected parts in the front and nothing seems to be the problem...
i asked the question cause ever since that buyers showed up it kept me thinking

Re: Steering problem (maybe not)
could be because your tires are out of round... happened to me before

Re: Steering problem (maybe not)
they have less than 30% thread left so maybe thats the problem?
Re: Steering problem (maybe not)
out of round is not 100% tied to tread level that you got
i instantly got my tires out of round when i was testing my front brake upgrade by locking the front at some 80KPH till the car came to a halt some 3 or 4 consecutive times... that was enough to ruin the geometric shape of the tire and it was so bad that you can actually visualize the area were the tire surface is flat rather than round
having used some 70% of your tread means the tire is pretty much used... odds are it is out of round indeed... you can test that by jacking the car and rotating the tire with hand and put your hand gently on the tread... you should feel "bumps" on the tread if the tire is out of round
