Son lost only key for Leganza need help!!

Post by eric77 »

My son has lost the only key I have to his 2000 leganza! I have called local key shops and they say I need the key code to get one cut? There are o dealers around to help so, I am here for whatever help I can get. I have been told that if I have proof of ownership that the key code could be given to me. I have the title on the car. Any help would be appreciated. I live in east texas area code 75861 if that is any help. Thanx in advance

I checked on the daewoo website (http://www.daewoous.com) and they list these two service centers in your area:
Dealer Name Address Phone Miles View
Waco Daewoo 3000 IH 35 South , Waco TX 76706 (254) 662-3610 75.7 Map
Auto Link Daewoo 11311 Reeder Road , Dallas TX 75229 (972) 481-1133 88.9 Map

seems like a bit of a hike. Try giving them a call and see what they say.

Well, had a key cut and does not seem to work? Tech at daewoo says it is the key code? The locksmith says it is the right blank and key cut??? How con I bye pass the ignition with a switch or can I just hammer a screw driver in the ignition cylinder and break it to turn over ?/ Anything is better than nothing. My son is a highschool kid that just need transport to and from school not worried much about theft in a 250 person school in the piney woods of texas. Any help on gettin it started before it is towed.

What do you mean it does not work? Does it fit in the ignition? If so, does it turn?
If it does turn and nothing happens, are you sure the battery is charged? The starter will not turn over if it is not seeing 12v from the battery.

If the key won't go in then it's definately the wrong blank. Try ebay and see if you can get your own blank. I'll call the old dealer in my area and see if they can get one too...if they can I can mail it to you?
