Leganza RCL

I have an X reg 2000 CDX-E Leganza, the problem i have is the rcl system, when i bought the car last year the rcl key would not lock or unlock the car or set the alarm system, i fitted a new batt in the key fob and then followed match transmitters key on off and press 3 times ect, the rcl then worked but only if i held the key to one of the door locks and touched the car as i pressed lock or unlock it would not work away from the car, then last week my key light turned on at the slightist touch of one of the buttons and i think it lost transmission as being pressed to many times away from the car. so i fitted another new batt in key fob and tried to match transmitters but nothing happened, it wont lock or unlock and i cant set alarm system, i have checked all the fuses and relays they all seem fine, every thing else on the car works ok all electrics are fine.
the central door locking works ok with the key at the drivers door.
does any one have any ideas what the problem is. any help please.
