Any ideas why?
I have a 1999 Leganza CDX 100% stock.
Cruise light on dash comes on when I step on brake

Wow ... that's cool!
Can you tell me how to do that to my Leganza, too?? LOL
Never heard of that happening to anyone with any car before!
Did you special order that as an option from the factory?? :P
The only thing I can think is maybe something has gotten into the fuse box and is touching across two fuses ... or the wiring harness has been pinched or rubbed through so wires are touching that should not be touching.
Have you accidently locked any gnomes in your car when they were trying to hide your car keys? They may not like getting locked in and have done some mischief.

Very funny, but I expected a more helpful response from someone who likes to quiz installers on the "skin effect" :P
I suspect that there is a fault in the brake/stop lamp switch so I have ordered a new one.
A wire diagram of the cruise control circuit would be helpful
