Keyless Entry

Post by whiptastic_nubira »

Im having a problem with my keyless entry. The range on it has seemed to decrease by alot. I use to could unlock my doors from across a parking lot, now i have to put the key to the door and press the button to unlock the doors. I just put a new battery in the key. Didnt seem to do anything. Still the same. Any suggestions? 2001 Nubira se

Did you taunt it or make fun of it?
It may be sad and not want to work for you.

check your alternator fluid, you might be low and its causing the electrical system to not work at its fullest potential.

Hmmm How does it transmit and recieve. If your range is shorter now, chances are it has something to do with one or the other.

The radio signal is received by a module. It is located or in the front console (near accelerator pedal) or in the driver door for newer models. Check for connector mating.
If you can open the transmitter U can try ultrasonic cleaning (jewellery shop) of the transmitter after removing it's battery. Airgun it until dry. Those transmitters collect all sort of dust, dirt and moisture that can reduce the transmitted signal.
