ive looked evrywhere, and there is a lot of talk bout swapping ecus between 1.5/1.6... and 2.0/1.6 etc...
but cant find any info on using the 1.5 ecu on the 1.3?
is it possible? does anyone know if they are interchangable?
and if so, can anyone think of or recommend an advantage of doing so? ie: would this increase performance on the 1.3?
(im asking all these questions instead of just going ahead and trying it and possibly doing damage to the engine.)
... any info/suggestions welcome.
cheers.

Cargo cultism is a beautiful thing as long as you never fall for it.
Re: swapping ecu's... 1.3 & 1.5 ?
my experiance shows that a 1.6 DOHC ecu works fine on a 2.0 DOHC engine... we had a discussion that showd that you can't swap manual tranny ECU with the auto tranny ECURodd1s wrote:ive looked evrywhere, and there is a lot of talk bout swapping ecus between 1.5/1.6... and 2.0/1.6 etc...

i didn't do that before at all but if you look at the 1.3 and 1.5 you will see that they are basically the same engine... the 1.5 is a stroaked 1.3 so i strongly beleive that they use same ecu since all sensors are the sameis it possible? does anyone know if they are interchangable?
don't think it will make any difference at all... tried the 2.0 ECU on the 2.0 nubira to see if it is any better than the 1.6 ECU and it was the exact same performance.and if so, can anyone think of or recommend an advantage of doing so? ie: would this increase performance on the 1.3?
engine won't get damaged... you might end up with some extra sockets at worst case senario but knowing the similarty between the two engines i say it is a 99% direct swap(im asking all these questions instead of just going ahead and trying it and possibly doing damage to the engine.)
info: note that some lanoses - like mine - designed to use leaded fuel and have no o2 sensor so i am sure the ECU is different that other lanoses that are made for unleaded fuel so make sure of what kind of engine managment you have and what you are going to buy if you decided to do it.... any info/suggestions welcome.
suggestions: don't do it... waist of time, effort and money.

Don't think any lanos' in the uk would come with that ECU MMamdouh. All cars from factory here basically since like 15-20 years ago have been designed to run unleaded. So practically all new cars here are all unleaded or diesel. Nice to know that though, Are the codes different? Or are there even codes on the daewoo ecus? Like on vauxhall there's fp/gf/ge etc for different engines/types of the same engine.
