hmmm....well I really haven't fooled around with overclocking before but apparently my version of Barton was never supposed to run on a 200MHz FSB.... it was supposed to only run on 166Mhz bus.
This explains why it switched to a 3200+
Funny thing is I pushed it a little and managed 215Mhz FSB so now it's running at 2370Mhz and the temperature went from an average of about 45 degrees up to 49 degrees and I still haven't raised my CPU fan speed
I just raised my CPU fan to 5200RPM and it's dropping the temp very quickly....allready at 43 degrees.
Does anyone know what kind of temp I should try to keep around with an AMD XP 2800+ (Barton) ????
I like a quiet fan so if 49 degrees isn't too hot I think I'll keep it there....wow this is a great heatsink.... just hit 39 degrees while overclocking the FSB by 48 MHz
Well .... it's 5am I suppose I should try to go to sleep.
It's all Tom(360 Dynamics ) fault.... he forced me to go out and get a couple of engine stands and then drink coffee :P
