Attn: Nubira fans...can we go larger.. like a 2.8?

Post by lanowoo »

i was wondering what engine we could put into a nubira that would boost performance and can still calll daewoo? wel i thought of a well put togethered idea, a 2.8 Gm 60-deg series v6 135bhp,165ft/lb torqued high performance beast that we could put in it called the LB6 engine? here is a pic of the engine (kinda).... http://v6z24.com/specs/28specs
tell me what you think, and would it be possible to do.... cause my dad had one of these in his 89 Oldsmoblie Cutlass Supreme SL, and it kicked ass, before the govenor cut in...it reached 168 mph, which is impressive to me:p.
(i will try to find out more about it.. just give me some time) and please share what you think..cmon, turboing 2.2's what about a 2.8..cmon think about it... kma and still it wuld be a daewoo cause its GM and there is GMDAT? so whats the diffrence..
( and it also came in a calvalier for a short time (i think) so it may be compatible to a lemans haha!

well kool:P i know that this engine is not really very big :P but its not expensive to get though i would think that a cadillac engine would be a little expensive, but i may be not.

I'm still wondering, for the catera engine, what kind of transmission would i have to get to mate to the engine so it would be FWD?

In my experience the Chev 2.8L V6 is a Piece of Crap.... and it will not fit the Daewoo Transmission.

If you want a 6 Cyl engine ..... the Opel 3.0L from a Cadillac Catera (Opel Omega) is a good candidate... many Corsa and Astra guys have stuffed one these guys into their small engine bays.

In fact.... if you do some searching around you will find all kinds of Astra 6Cyl conversions..... 2.5L and 3.0L

Given the lemans/Astra chassis is the same as Lanos.... the installation instructions would be identical.... and there are kits out there to make the swap easier.

Personally.... I think the 6cyl is a bad idea... a Lanos with a C20GET ( 2.0L 8V turbo ) would be faster..... the engine is lighter... and it gets better mileage.

Plus... the swap is way easier.... additional power is fairly easy to create since it's just a matter of increasing the boost.

I'm going to search this up a little more... Because i've been very intrested in this for months, but havne't found the time to look it up,got any links readily available? if not thats cool, just wanted to ask before i seached it up... I'm tryin to decide whether to pick up a 2.2L and turbo it, turbo my stock 2.0L or upgrade to the 3.0L... so any help would be appreciated.

I 2nd that. I had one in my Beretta, POS engine. Damn spark plug blew out of one of the heads, looked at it, and a chunk of the head was with it, can to replace the rear head.
